New projects from really talented artists, January & February 2010!

Each project is a wonderful work of art and we all have lots of fun too!

Student Project Example   Craig
Colored Pencil

Craig's wonderful bear was accepted into the 2010 Hogle Zoo Art Show. This very prestigous show is an honor to be juried into.

Student Project Example   Kaye
Colored Pencil

Kaye's very first project, the lion, was also accepted into the Hogle Zoo Art Show. Beautiful work Kaye!

Student Project Example   Jan
Advisor, all groups

OK, so I'm not a student but I had such a great time and my giraffes were also accepted into the Hogle Zoo Art Show.

Student Project Example   Ruth
Oil Painting

Ruth is busy in the Workshop creating her very first oil painting. She used modeling paste for the texture and is now painting the background.

Student Project Example   Joanie
Colored Pencil

Joanie's newest drawing is stunning. Every year she admires my Bleeding Hearts and she finally decided to draw them. She made them look wonderful.

Student Project Example   Dani
Youth Drawing

Dani created this for her Grandmother. The photo that she worked from is of herself and her Grandmother when Dani was a small child. Dani is 13 and does amazing work.

Student Project Example   Carol
Colored Pencil

Another of Carol's wonderful dog drawings. This beauty was a commission and it is really beautiful.

Student Project Example   Todd
Acrylic Painting

Todd's contemporary paintings are dramatic and unusual. Todd puts lots of thought into his work.

Student Project Example   Jan & Shaggy
Wednesday Night

Diana's little dog Shaggy is our mascot (there are lots of pictures of him) and many of us just can't keep our hands off of the little guy. What a doll!

Student Project Example   Emma
Youth Painting

Emma's very first painting is a stylized version of Audrey Hepburn. It turned out so well. No one could believe that a 14 year old did this.

Student Project Example   Jane
Colored Pencil

This is Jane's second drawing and she is seeing the really subtle colors that make a rose so beautiful. Good job Jane!

Student Project Example   Colleen
Colored Pencil

This drawing has a watercolor feel to it. Colored Pencil can be blended to give that effect. Colleen worked so hard. Great work!

Student Project Example   Becky
Acrylic Painting

This is very simple but elegant. The background is a blue-gray that matches the accents in the room where this painting hangs. Becky experienced some frustration and finally simplified the image.

Student Project Example   Erinn
Youth Drawing

Erinn finds Colored Pencil challenging but really delivered with this drawing of Jesus that she created as a gift for her Grandmother.

Student Project Example   Joan
Acrylic Painting

The first in the "IF, AND OR BUT" series that Joan is working on. Each is an individual, square canvas.

Student Project Example   Joan
Acrylic Painting

Second in the series. I didn't get a great photo of it but the painting is so fun and Joan is having fun creating!

Student Project Example   Joan
Acrylic Painting

Again, this didn't photograph very well but it turned out really well.

Student Project Example   Joan
Acrylic Painting

The final in the series. All together this is a great project.
